When a young woman and her longtime boyfriend found out they were expecting a child and the relationship ended abruptly, she was unsure of where to turn. Her ex left her to pay prenatal and post-natal care, hospital and birth expenses, and formula and diaper costs for the child on her own. Following the birth of the baby, attorney Richard Perry filed a petition to establish paternity, custody, and child support.

Alabama Divorce & Family Lawyers, LLC was successful in obtaining an order where the court stated that the boyfriend needed to reimburse the client for a portion of prenatal and postnatal costs, as well as expenses related to the birth of the child. In addition, the court also entered an order adjudicating paternity to the boyfriend. This resulted in an order of child support to our client.

The outcome of an individual case depends on a variety of factors unique to that case. Case results do not guarantee or predict a similar result in any similar or future case.
