When a new marriage turned abusive and an Alabama wife felt she had nowhere to turn, she reached out to Alabama Divorce & Family Lawyers, LLC for help. A full-time college student with limited funds from the husband, she was concerned about her options, but attorney Richard Perry assisted her in filing for divorce and emergency relief.

Due to attorney Perry’s quick involvement in the case, the client was able to obtain an ex parte order in which the husband was immediately evicted from the home. This order serves as a restraining order that keeps the client’s ex away from her, out of the marital home, and away from her business. Within a few days of being served this order, the court held a hearing during which the client was awarded temporary possession of the marital home, and the husband was ordered to pay spousal support in addition to paying the marital debts.

Upon completion of the case, the wife was awarded the possession of the home and rehabilitative alimony. She was able to finish her college degree and become self-supporting.

The outcome of an individual case depends on a variety of factors unique to that case. Case results do not guarantee or predict a similar result in any similar or future case.
